Women's Golf Day featuring Dana Schultz

Join us Saturday, May 31 as we celebrate Women’s Golf Day. This memorable event will feature instructional clinics, a round on the Old Course, our popular Poses & Pairings yoga and wine tasting, as well as a special lunch with Dana Schultz, a highly recognized leader in the women’s golf industry.

Throughout our resort’s history, our resort has witnessed some of the game’s most memorable moments. On October 12, 1900, The Homestead’s first women’s tournament, an Open, was played on the Old Course. Glenna Collett, the greatest female golfer of her time, won the USGA Women’s Open on The Cascades in 1928. In the 1930s, a young Jacqueline Bouvier (later known as Jackie Kennedy, one of our country’s most iconic First Ladies) learned to play golf on The Cascades. Olympic track and field medalist and one of America’s best multi-sport athletes, Babe Didrikson Zaharias, played The Cascades in 1935. All members of the inaugural class (1951) of the Hall of Fame of Women's Golf, played at The Homestead. The US team defeated Great Britain 13-5 in the Curtis Cup, the international women’s amateur competition, played on The Cascades in 1966. The following year, Catherine Lacoste became the first, and to this day, only, amateur to win the US Women’s Championship. This September, our resort will host the US Senior Women’s Amateur, our 9th USGA event.
